A screen-free game that became a book

Would You Rather – Wild & Wacky Adventures for Kids is a 300-question activity book that gets kids laughing, thinking and talking with the people around them. It started as a game my own family kept playing on drives and around campfires, and it kept growing until it was a book.

Unplug. Imagine. Adventure.

What’s inside

Five categories of outdoor-themed dilemmas:

• Silly Antics — goofy scenarios that guarantee giggles
• Wildlife Wonders — animal encounters and nature choices
• Weather Twists — seasons, storms and climate capers
• Adventure Trails — camping, hiking and exploration
• Gross Encounters — icky, sticky outdoor mishaps

A few of the questions:

• Would you rather camp with a singing frog or a moose telling bad jokes?
• Would you rather have a self-packing backpack or a self-refilling water bottle?
• Would you rather sled on melted chocolate snow or cross a candy bar bridge?
• Would you rather roast a marshmallow golden and gooey or crispy black and crunchy?

It works on road trips and camping nights, at family game night, as a classroom icebreaker, and as a gift.

From family game to published title

I wrote the questions, designed the book, handled the print production and published it through Amazon KDP.

Doing that production by hand once — trim geometry, page layout, front and back matter, KDP’s formatting rules — made it obvious the second book shouldn’t repeat the work. That’s what led me to build TrailPress Studio, the book production system I use now. The Would You Rather engine in TrailPress is a direct descendant of this title.

Together they show the pattern I tend to follow: do the work by hand, find where the real difficulty is, then build the tool that removes it.
